A London, Ontario man with 7 prior drunk driving convictions and who is under a lifetime driving ban was arrested again for impaired driving by London police this week.
Sgt. Tom O’Brien was quoted in the London FreePress as stating that jail time is all that’s left to keep banned drivers off the road. “What else is left to do with a person who is banned from driving forever?” asked O’Brien. “What can we do but put them in jail? I think it’s the only option. These people are endangering the lives of other people. If they run somebody over and kill them, there is going to be an outcry.”
The man’s car has been impounded for a minimum of 45 days.
The consequences of an impaired driving conviction, or an over 80 conviction, are serious. If you have been charged with impaired driving, contact Auger Hollingsworth at 613 233-4529 or by email at [email protected]. We would be pleased to provide you with a free consultation.
