A 55 year old professor is wanted by France in connection with a bomb attack almost 30 years ago. He faces charges of murder, attempted murder and willful destruction of property by an organized group. None of these charges are admitted or proven. The accused suggests that it is a case of mistaken identity.
News reports indicate that the gentleman was arrested on a provisional warrant for extradition at the request of French authorities. The terms of the arrest warrant require that an official extradition request must be filed within forty-five days. Then, a Canadian judge will review the evidence that France has against the gentleman to determine if there is enough to permit extradition.
