Prison Team Sought In Oshawa Drunk Driving Case

The crown is seeking a four-year prison term for a man who pleaded guilty on Thursday, May 28th, 2009 to impaired driving in the death of a Whitby teacher.

The man was drunk and speeding through Oshawa when he ran a red light and slammed into the teacher’s car. He then fled the scene of the crash and refused to provide police with a breath sample.

The defence lawyer has requested a prison term of three to three-and-a-half years.

The man will be sentenced later this summer.
