A 20-year-old is facing several charges after being arrested by Ridge Meadows RCMP on February 13th.
When police arrived on the scene, they were told a male suspect had fled the scene of an assault. After catching up with the vehicle, the driver jumped out and attempted to run away. The suspect was apprehended two blocks away, where he showed signs of intoxication. Police issued a breathalyzer test, which the suspected failed after blowing one and a half times the legal limit. Police also learned the suspect’s vehicle, along with the license plates, were stolen.
Police are recommending several charges, including impaired driving, driving with a blood/alcohol level in excess of 0.08, assault, possession of stolen property, and dangerous driving. It was later discovered the suspect was also violating a previous court order.
