ATV Driver Faces Multiple Charges

On Sunday, April 5th, 2009, Northumberland OPP were sent to a house in Hamilton Township where several people were leaving a party impaired.

One driver left the party on an ATV. The officer activated his emergency lights and tried to stop the ATV, but it only stopped after it got lodged between two large cement posts. The driver was immediately arrested for impaired driving and flight from police.

The 23-year-old male driver is facing multiple charges, including: impaired driving, failing to provide a breath sample, flight from police, three counts of failing to comply with an undertaking or recognizance, driving a motor vehicle with no licence, failing to surrender permit for motor vehicle, failing to surrender insurance card and being a class G1 licence holder with blood/alcohol concentration reading above .08. His court appearance is scheduled for May 5th.
