Man Pleads Guilty to Drunk Driving after Fatal Crash

An impaired driver who fled the scene of a fatal 2008 crash has pleaded guilty to impaired driving causing death and failing to remain at the scene of an accident.

The incident occurred June 28th of last year, when the man’s vehicle crossed the centre line and collided with a westbound vehicle. The other driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Witnesses saw the man flee the scene, and he was arrested shortly after. Toxicology reports show the man’s blood alcohol level at the time was between 92 and 142 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood.

Sentencing will take place on May 8th.
