A 30-year-old St. Catharines man is facing several charges after a police chase through the city on March 20th resulted in around $15,000 in damages.
Niagara Regional Police say a pickup truck driver was driving erratically and refused to stop for police. The man continued driving through the city, eventually hitting a taxi cab and another vehicle.
The driver then still tried to escape the police, who blocked his path using several police cruisers.
Police were eventually forced to break the driver’s side window to force the man out of the vehicle.
Four vehicles were damaged during the incident, including two police cruisers.
A 36-year-old was treated with minor injuries as a result of the chase.
The driver is facing multiple charges, including: flight from police, failing to stop at an accident scene, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and impaired driving.
