A 41-year-old man is facing several charges, including impaired driving, after being arrested in Hastings on Friday, April 3rd, 2009.
A Northumberland OPP constable stopped his vehicle and a check of the licence plate showed it was not registered to his car. The driver was arrested for using plates not authorized for the vehicle.
After being taken into custody, the officer smelled alcohol on the driver’s breath. A roadside screening test was done and the results led to the driver being arrested for driving a motor vehicle while having more than 80 mgs of alcohol in 100 mls of blood. A search of the driver also revealed illegal prescription drugs.
The man has been charged with driving over .08, possession of a Schedule 1 drug, using plates not authorized for the vehicle and driving a motor vehicle with no insurance. He is scheduled to appear in court on May 5th.
