YouTube Video Helps Renfrew Police Catch Speeder

Renfrew Police stopped and charged two drivers for excessive speeding on Thursday, April 2nd, 2009. At least one of the drivers is believed to have starred in several YouTube videos featuring “Frew Boyz” racing and speeding through town.

Since the videos showed up on YouTube around this time last year, police have made a special effort to catch those featured.

Thursday night, they caught two speeders and recognized one of the vehicles from the YouTube videos. Two Renfrew men, aged 20 and 28, were charged with travelling 86 km/h in a 50 km/h zone.

Police say the Frew Boyz YouTube videos show cars racing and screaming past the camera. There are currently ten of the videos posted on the site.
